Jason Locke - Preaching Minister
Jason Locke has been the preaching minister for the College Church since 2009. He and his wife Julie have two grown sons who were both born while they were doing mission work in Prague. Jason has a degree in mechanical engineering, along with 3 graduate degrees in ministry, missions, and theology from Abilene Christian University. He sees himself as a seeker who tries to learn every day what it means to follow Jesus. He leads by inviting others along for the journey. Contact Jason via email: jlockeca at gmail.com. Sandra Henderson - Worship Minister
Sandra has served in various capacities at the College Church since the early 1990s. She has worked to plan and lead worship here for about 20 years. Sandra and her husband Lex are native Fresnans. Chalé Wesson - Youth Minister
Chalé Wesson has been our youth minister since January 1, 2019. She is a Fresno Pacific Graduate with magna cum laude honors. Chalé has worked in the mental health field and continues to volunteer with 4141 Ministries for the Build-A-Child program in one of Fresno’s underserved communities. She was also named “Fresno’s Woman of the Year in 2018 for District 7.” She lives with her husband and three children. You can contact Chalé by email, chalewesson at gmail.com.
Our Current Team of Elders
Dale Drury has served as an elder since 2008. You can often find Dale teaching a Sunday morning adult class or singing on the praise team. He is a native of Washington and a graduate of Columbia Christian College. Dale is a Senior OEM Sales Engineer, covering the western US for Grundfos Pumps. He and his wife Bev have been married for more than 40 years. Bev is now retired but spent her teaching career in Christian education. She was a long-time teacher and former principal at Mountain View Christian School until the school’s closure in 2013. They have two grown children and two grandchildren.
Terry Hutchison serves as one of the church’s elders. He grew up in Central California before studying in various parts of the United States. He is a pediatric neurologist at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno and the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program. His wife Ruth has a Masters in Early Childhood Education and has been involved in non-profits for years. She spends her time in various charity and church works. She has been chairperson the board of Easter Seals, and has directed the Ronald McDonald house and other good works. Terry & Ruth have three children and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sean Gresham is a native Fresnan and graduate of Clovis West High School. He graduated from Fresno Pacific University and works as an information specialist for Fleetwash Inc. Sean and his wife Ellen have three grown children and one grandchild. You can often find Sean at church helping out with tech stuff, overseeing some landscaping project, or visiting near the coffee pot in the foyer. In addition to his mad computing skills, Sean also loves playing guitar. He plays acoustic for our church’s monthly instrumental worship.
Don Pierce is a preacher’s kid who was born in Abilene, Texas but spent most of his growing-up years in Kansas. He graduated from McPherson High School. As a student at Harding College (now University) in Arkansas, he met his wife Ann, who led him to her native Fresno after they graduated and married. Don had a long, decorated career with the County of Fresno. For many years, he was the Director for the Department of Employment and Temporary Assistance (now the Department of Social Services). He has also directed the county’s Human Services System and taught in the School of Social Work at California State University, Fresno. His wife Ann died in 2012. They have one grown daughter and one grandson. Don loves keeping tabs on people along with sending loads of encouraging messages, phone calls and cards.
Kyle Mason is a lifelong resident of Fresno. He spent his entire childhood living and going to school within a one-mile radius of our church building. Kyle is a graduate of Hoover High School. For years, he built and developed his own company, Valley Fleet Clean, which provided employment for over 100 people. After selling to Fleetwash Inc, he is now their Vice President for Franchising. Kyle and his wife Judy, also a lifelong Fresno County resident, have 4 grown children, two of whom are married. He enjoys tinkering around the house, playing with cars, and taking long walks on the beach.
Fausto Hinojosa has lived almost his entire life here in the Central Valley. He graduated from Tranquility High School and went on to study accounting at Fresno State University. Fausto specializes in forensic accounting for government and non-profit accounts, and he in now managing partner at Price, Paige and Company. Fausto has served on numerous non-profit boards, and he also leads our church’s finance ministry. Fausto and his wife Maria have three grown children. You’ll often find Fausto teaching an adult class, while Maria loves to work with our preschoolers.
Arthur Wint (elder emiritus)
Arthur is a native of Kingston, Jamaica and emigrated as a teenager to the United States. He attended Washington State University, where he met his wife of 46 years. While both were enrolled in graduate school, they attended Holgate Street Church of Christ in Seattle at the invitation of one of Carlotta’s middle school students. Arthur has always been an active participant in church and community affairs. He has served as deacon and elder at College Church, having now served over twenty years. Subsequent to being diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), he was honored as Elder Emeritus. He is a retired tenured professor, in the Department of Criminology and former administrator and Carlotta an adjunct professor at California State University, Fresno. She has also volunteered her time between church and community. The Wint’s have four adult children and nine grandchildren, with number ten due at any time.
