In John 12:1-8, Jesus was the guest of honor at banquet. Lazarus was the main host. His sister Martha served dinner. Their other sister Mary anointed Jesus’s feet with expensive perfume. Judas accused Mary of wasting such a valuable possession. Yet Jesus indicated that there are times for such extravagance. In what sense should we practice extravagant generosity today?
